  1. In a large bowl add all of the ingredients except the water.
  2. Incorporate and stir until mixed well. Slowly add the can of water until you get the salsa consistency that you desire.
  3. You can serve immediately, or, make ahead the day before, cover with plastic wrap and serve. The longer it sits, the thicker it will get.
Recipe Notes

If you'd like a spicier version, you can add chopped chilis to it, whichever variety you like. I purchase the 7oz can of Herdez Salsa Casera but sometimes they're out of it at the market and you can buy the 16oz. glass jar of it and just pour in half of the jar as your base. It comes in mild, medium and hot, and if you love spicy, the hot really isn't hot in my opinion. I purchase the medium heat level which works great for the kids and those who don't like, or can't digest, spicy foods.
