Starbucks is already selling the PSL, multi-coloured leaves are falling to the ground, and the sporadic showers of Vancity have had me in a more than ready for fall mood! September 22 is the official start date of fall, and I absolutely cannot wait. This is my favourite time of year, and I can’t wait for the weather and fashion that come a long with the season change. It’s finally “fashionably acceptable” to pull out the darker colours of lipstick, purses and sweaters! I wasted no time jumping right in with this oxblood coloured thinner-ribbed long sleeve. As you can… View Post

Being an LA Native, I’ve never really had the need to own a trench coat. I mean, maybe we’ll get a week or two of rain spread out throughout the year, but it’s so minimal that most just throw up an umbrella or hold a plastic bag over their head! LOL. No joke. It’s ridiculous to see Southern Californians fend for themselves in the rain. I did buy one back in the 90’s when I had a job that required travel back to NYC, and I bought that first trench coat at Burlington Coat Factory in Paramus, New Jersey. I… View Post

Welcome Fall! I know it’s a bit early for the fall back in my hometown of LA, but here in downtown Vancouver, the skies are grey, the cruise ships are no longer docked in the harbor and at Granville Island, all of the hustle and bustle of the summer crowds are gone. I can’t say that I’m sad to see them go, because I am absolutely loving the calm and quiet and my morning chats with the local vendors and not feeling like a salmon swimming upstream to get my morning marketing done. While the vendors are sad to see… View Post

Two weeks until the official start of Fall! Can you tell we’re excited? The past week of Vancouver weather has been up and down with rain, clouds, wind and some sun thrown in there. Definitely getting feelings of fall, and I’m getting really excited for sweater weather all the time. The locals tend to groan when we talk about how excited we are for fall, because to them, we have no idea what we’re in for. Which in all fairness, is very true, but either way we’re excited to experience it! That said, trying to do your hair in this kind… View Post

Mexican food, hands down, is my favorite go-to meal. It’s comforting, it’s satisfying, but oh can it be fattening! Here is my version of Chocolate Mole that I’ve made with raw cacao powder, almond butter instead of peanut butter, a touch of honey and chipotle peppers in adobo sauce 🙂 Nothing makes me happier than a chunky Mole. Here’s what my version looks like served over carnitas that I’ve been slow roasting or slow cooking all day with carmelized onions. Sooooo good! : There are two restaurants that I’ve had MEMORABLE molé in, I mean, in the memorable way that… View Post
